Considering Pain

Jesus’ life was threatened by those who attended his church. He was rejected by his neighbors, friends and family.
Luke 4: 28-29 “And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him headlong.
So, after Jesus announces who He really is and He is criticized by his close associates, His life is threatened by those same people. Sometimes, I feel very threatened when I am hurt by those I know best. When feeling deep personal pain (especially when I feel I don’t deserve it), I can remember that I am in the best company. Jesus did not deserve to be treated unjustly. Yet, He was. When I put this perspective on my pains, it helps me to bear them with patience and to look for what I can learn from my pain.
