Staying On Task

Left fame behind to do what he was sent to do: preach.
Luke 4:43-44 “And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.” (Also Mark 1:38-39 and Matthew 4:23)
In this verse Jesus was leaving a group of people who wanted to be with Him. Here Jesus sets an example of staying on task, not getting distracted from what God wanted Him to do. Jesus may have had a desire to do other things or maybe wanted to avoid certain things. It might have been tempting to think of staying where He was welcomed. I can follow Jesus’ example when I am diligent in doing what God wants me to do.
