Jesus did not entrust himself to the undedicated. He took care of himself did not take unnecessary personal risk. He knew things about people.

John 2:23-25 “Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day. Many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”

How are you? This common question can sometimes be uncommonly uncomfortable. When my feelings are blue and strong this question poses a quandary for me. In my black and white thinking it plays out as should I tell the truth and be honest and vulnerable or lie and say fine. This example of Jesus shows me I can sometimes keep the truth about myself to myself and use discretion about what I reveal to others. There are people I can trust and be vulnerable with and others with whom I do not need to share my burden. Like Jesus, I can trust what I feel and know about others to help me decide how much of myself to share.
